Facilitator Amanda Nix, who attended our January 2011 training, led an introductory session on civic reflection at the 27th annual IMPACT national conference, held at Stetson University March 31-April 3. Nix is Stetson's coordinator of Bonner Scholars, undergraduates who take part in service learning, community engagement and leadership training. About 550 students and administrators from all over the country participated in IMPACT, the national student conference on service, advocacy and social action.

Nix describes the result of her engagement with civic reflection: "Facilitation training with the Project on Civic Reflection has shaped both my career and personal life in an exciting way. As a young professional, this two-day session gave me the skills and confidence necessary to lead civic reflection sessions with college students in DeLand, Florida and, as a result of the IMPACT conference, nationwide. After just a few short sessions, I have seen the change civic reflection makes in the lives of individuals, organizations, and communities. I can hardly wait for my next chance to share what I've learned through this partnership with others!"
