Convening a Planning Group

Convening a Planning Group

A planning group brings together internal advocates, conveners and discussion leaders to think carefully about the purposes and structure of a conversation. The planning group can help to articulate the basic questions that will structure the conversation, confer on texts for discussion, craft a participant list, and select a time and place for the conversation.

The planning process can take time but in our experience, the formal conversation will be significantly more relevant and useful to participants if you take the time you need for the informal, planning conversations.
